Enticing Whispers

Few things are more fun to me than turning real-world observations into short, punchy sentences.

By distilling a complex concept into a few succinct lines, one can describe a matter in a manner that is interesting and thought-provoking. Obviously, a simple phrase of a few words cannot fully harness the intricacies that many topics contain. However, I still find these lines quite helpful in sparking thought and conversation.

Below, you will find six gleanings from my recent thoughts, along with a request: Read them slowly and take the time to think through each idea. Then choose one that you find interesting, or perhaps one with which you particularly agree or disagree, and share your thoughts with me.

All too often, I find that the walls I once built to protect myself are the same ones that now hold me captive.

When questions are deemed offensive, all reason is abandoned, and truth becomes little more than a matter of opinion.

Humility is the flaw that allows one to be exploited by a world ruled by pride.

Compassion is the ability to empathize with the pain of that world.

Faith is the source of strength to continue being both humble and compassionate in a world that exploits.

The most dangerous men in the world are those who are evil.

The second most dangerous are those who are cowards, for they serve the former.

To those who believe there is no objective reality or truth: Would you say that this statement is objectively true?

The voice that once enticed someone to harm you is the same voice you now hear whispering in your mind, demanding vengeance.

The enemy is not in front of you; it is within you.
