What About Love?
A poem about searching
POETRY
As Jesus Did
Wise men say, follow your heart, but mine has led me astray many times.
It believes many lies and feels many emotions.
My heart is a lost traveler, and it is the one that must search and follow.
They say if you put your mind to it, all things are possible.
Yet, my mind is weak, and I am small.
I command no legion.
Not even a single man stands waiting for my word.
I tell a mountain to move, and it doesn’t budge.
I can do nothing, but through God, all things are possible.
And what about love?
They say it feels good and you must love in your own way.
But that is not what I see on the cross.
On the cross, love bore pain and gave its life.
Those nails spilled love's blood on the ground.
I do not want to love as I do, but instead as Jesus did.
