Deliverance

Arms outstretched, waiting

My heart is heavy within, Lord,

The weight of my despair is so pressing.

Darkness wishes to swallow me up…

Pain washes upon my heart,

My anguished soul...

Wave after crushing wave.

I feel so helpless,

So lonely,

So pain-filled.

But...

I look up!

I look into the shining face of my Lord.

His eyes of love pour compassion and mercy back to me.

He knows!

He cares!

He understands!

He holds his arms outstretched, waiting for me to take hold.

I reach out to take His hand and find...

In my darkness – Light.

In my despair – Hope.

In my loss – Comfort.

Come, Lord Jesus, come.

Pour the oil of joy into my wounds and bind them.

Spring forth, oh River of Peace.

Leap… oh, Fountain of Joy!
